- From the top: Trail, then Pure Sequence, Sequence, Color, Pair and finally High Card.
- A-A-A is the best hand; 5-3-2 in mixed suits is the worst.
- Only about 1 hand in 4 is a Pair or better.
- Suits never break ties.
Try It: The Hand Checker
Pick any three cards and the checker names the hand and counts exactly how many of the 22,100 possible three-card hands it beats. It uses the same order as the table below, with A-2-3 as the second-highest run.
All Six Hands, Strongest First
| # | Hand | Example | Ways to be dealt | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Trail (Trio, Set) | K♠ K♥ K♣ | 52 | 0.24% |
| 2 | Pure Sequence | 8♣ 9♣ 10♣ | 48 | 0.22% |
| 3 | Sequence (Run) | J♦ Q♠ K♥ | 720 | 3.26% |
| 4 | Color (Flush) | 3♥ 9♥ Q♥ | 1,096 | 4.96% |
| 5 | Pair | 5♦ 5♠ J♣ | 3,744 | 16.94% |
| 6 | High Card | A♣ 10♦ 4♠ | 16,440 | 74.39% |

1. Trail (Trio or Set)
All three cards share a rank, like 7♣ 7♥ 7♦. Nothing in the deck beats A-A-A, while 2-2-2 is the humblest Trail you can hold. Each of the 13 ranks can form a Trail in four suit combinations, giving 52 in total.
2. Pure Sequence (Straight Flush)
Three cards in a row, all in the same suit: 9♥ 10♥ J♥. There are 12 possible runs and 4 suits, making 48 Pure Sequences, which is the rarest hand in the game. The best is A♠ K♠ Q♠.
3. Sequence (Run)
Three cards in a row in mixed suits: 4♠ 5♦ 6♣. The order from top is A-K-Q, A-2-3, K-Q-J, Q-J-10 and so on down to 4-3-2. Wrap-arounds like K-A-2 don't count. There are 720 Sequences.
4. Color (Flush)
Any three cards of the same suit that aren't a run: 2♦ 8♦ K♦. Between two Colors, compare the top card first, then the second, then the third. A♣ 5♣ 3♣ beats K♥ Q♥ 10♥ because the Ace beats the King.
5. Pair
A matched couple and a loner: Q♠ Q♦ 6♥. Queens beat Jacks no matter what the loner is; only when both players hold the same pair does that odd card, the kicker, come into play. You'll see a Pair roughly once every six deals.
6. High Card
Anything that isn't one of the above. Nearly three hands in four are High Card, which is why so much of Teen Patti is about deciding when a "nothing" hand is still worth a bet. The best High Card hand is A K J in mixed suits; the worst possible hand is 5-3-2 in mixed suits.
How the Odds Are Calculated
The number of ways to choose 3 cards from 52 is 52 × 51 × 50 ÷ 6 = 22,100. Counting each hand type:
- Trail: 13 ranks × 4 suit choices = 52
- Pure Sequence: 12 runs × 4 suits = 48
- Sequence: 12 runs × 64 suit combinations − 48 pure = 720
- Color: 4 suits × 286 three-card sets − 48 pure = 1,096
- Pair: 13 ranks × 6 pairs × 48 other cards = 3,744
- High Card: the remaining 16,440
Put another way, you'll be dealt a Pair or better only about one time in four (25.6%). Keep that in mind before chasing a pot with nothing. More on that in our strategy guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Teen Patti Master hand can never be beaten?
A-A-A. Trail is the top hand type and three Aces is the top Trail, so it wins every show it reaches.
Which is bigger, Color or Sequence?
Sequence. A run of three in mixed suits beats any three cards of one suit that aren't in a run.
Does a Pair of Aces beat a Color?
No. Any Color beats any Pair, even a Pair of Aces.
Is Spades higher than Hearts in Teen Patti Master?
No suit outranks another. Suits only tell you whether three cards form a Color or a Pure Sequence; they never settle a tie.
What's the worst hand you can be dealt?
5-3-2 with mixed suits. Don't confuse it with 4-3-2, which is a run and ranks far higher.
